The Website Scam Checklist which is a follow on from the list of Chinese scam websites will help you to decide whether a website is genuine or a scam. It uses statistical information about scam websites to estimate the probability that a particular website is a scam.

All you need to do is look through the suspect website for particular features. If you find them, tick the corresponding box in the checklist.  To help you through the process, there is also a guide written to further explain, it's up to you if you want to use it.   If the Checklist says the website is a scam, then yes we think the website is a scam, you don't need to email me to be sure.

Is the website a scam or not?

The checklist lists a series of 'flags' that indicate that the website might be a scam. Not all scam websites involve all these elements. Some genuine websites might include a few. But if you find more than a couple, you should really avoid it.

Check the indicators that are present in the website.

As you check them, the odds and the image to the left will change to reflect the level of risk.  I'm sure you can work out for yourself what it means.

Note : ScamChecker is not designed to tell you that a website is legitimate.  It will tell you if a site is bad, but if those tests pass that does not qualify the site as being trustworthy.
